Our Monitors
There are a lot of nice monitors out there for viewing images destined for the web. But if you want to print, you need one you can calibrate. Our Ben Q monitors calibrate via hardware instead of software and we love them!
Our Printers
Printing images comes with its own steep learning curve, and it’s really not fun when things don’t work out right. But when they do, there is something really satisfying about holding something physical in the hand.
Our Lenses
Image quality is largely about the optics and the sensor. Fortunately, Fujifilm makes some pretty good glass (just ask Hasselblad!), and we own our fair share of it.
Dan’s Filters
Polarizers, neutral density and graduated neutral density filters are part of a landscape photographer’s basic kit and are essential for the way I explore the environment. Plus, I’ve recently upgraded my kit so there’s a lot to check out.
Dan’s Tripods
You can’t take a two second exposure without a tripod. Check out why I have three of them . . . or are there more?
Dan’s Camera Bags
I too am still on the quest for the perfect camera bag, despite being very satisfied with the ones I have. These are the ones I kept after the great moving to Portugal clean-out.
Fujifilm GFX 50s II or …. GFX 100s?
I’ve had occasion to wonder whether I need to take a step up in my equipment (or whether that’s just gear envy) to obtain some of the photographic results I thought I should be getting.
Fujifilm GFX 100s
The logical next step!
Hasselblad X1D II
A designer’s dream!
Phase One XT
Pure photography!
Fujifilm X-Pro2
The X-Pro2 has been Dan’s main camera for a couple of years now. It suits the way he works, and the optical viewfinder has a few advantages when out in the field.
Fujifilm X100
The X100 was the camera that convinced Dan that digital had come of age image-wise. It might have only a 12 megapixel sensor, but it produces incredible images!
Ann’s Fujifilm XT-3
My primary camera is a Fujifilm X-T3. It’s my third X-T model and I love it. So much in fact I found no need to upgrade to the X-T4.
Lumix LX100II
The best point-and-shoot out there! From the micro-4/3s sensor to the plethora of manual controls, to the Leica glass, there little to be critical of with this carry-around camera.
Sony DSC RX100 M6
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC RX100 VI is a pocketable compact camera which I never quite fell in love with. It is our “put it in our car in case we need a camera” category.
Fujifilm X-T2
Fujifilm took a big step up with its second generation of cameras and both Dan and I took advantage of it, this time going with different cameras - Dan with his X-Pro 2 and me with the X-T2.
Fujifilm X-T1
Our photography started getting serious with the X-T1. Not only did we buy our RRS tripods around the same time as getting the cameras, we got L-brackets and filters to help us with image making, not to mention starting to build out our line of Fujifilm XF lenses.
