It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of my musings posts, so why don’t you head over to the blog site to see my latest thoughts about life in Portugal.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone it applies to, and happy Sunday to everyone else. Ann and I went for a drive through the Parque Natural do Alvão (the Alvão Nature Park) last weekend so I figure sharing it today is as good a present as I could possibly give.

You might have been wondering about what happened to the story about our Mother’s Day trip to the Peneda-Gêres National Park that I’d promised, oh, a couple of weeks ago. Well, I thought that I made some decent images that day but . . . upon later examination, became extremely disappointed with my work. That then led to avoidance behavior. However, I’ve finally convinced myself to forget great photographs and just get on with the story. And I should do it before Fathers Day comes around and I start to feel guilty. So here it is.

When Ann asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday it didn’t take me long to come up with the perfect answer - “I want to Print!” Come on over to find out how it went.

The other day, during one of my work-break trips up the stairs, I walked into Ann’s office and once again saw an image on her computer that triggered my photographic brain and one of my owns image I’ve been thinking about lately. Despite the fact that it was pouring down rain, Ann and I went out for a drive and some photography on Mother’s Day. While the full story and accompanying images will have to wait, come join us for a taste of Ann’s day.

Last Friday the Portuguese government ended the state of emergency a couple of days early so people could enjoy the weekend (and also so the restaurants, stores and hotels could benefit from an extra weekend of near-normal activity).
