WORKSHOP PORTFOLIO - PART 5: BLACK & WHITE

The last collection of images represents yet another startling shift.  Although the print would remain in a portrait orientation, and the imagery returns to a square format (thus eliminating a lot of potential images), the dramatic shift in imagery comes from the loss of color, turning to my continuing interest in black and white photographs.

Part 5 - Black & White: I have printed each of these images, successfully, in the past.  However, printing them again for a portfolio would probably have been the most difficult of the sets of images to print.  Done right, these images can glow with light and be stunning in their detail.  Mis-printed (and several of these I did mis-print before I got it right), they’re dull or lifeless or both, even if the image itself is interesting.  That would have been the challenge - bringing these images to life, rich in tone, depth and light.
