AND SO IT BEGINS . . . AGAIN. THE WAIT!

It’s not as if we haven’t been waiting already.  I mean, our original visit to Bimobil in Oberpframmern, Germany was on January 7, 2020 and it was then that we signed the papers to order our new adventure rig.  So we’ve been waiting a few days since then for this one to come (to be more precise, 667 days [or if you want to look at it from a different perspective, if Google serves me right, it’s been 95 weeks and 2 days; or approximately 16,008 hours, approximately 960,480 minutes, or approximately 57,628,800 seconds . . . but who’s is counting?]).  Anyway, today we received notice that our Iveco Daily 4x4 has arrived at bimobil.

Quite the beauty, eh?

At least the next photos we get from this process won’t be images of them cutting into the brand new van body . . .  there isn’t one.

It’s been a long time coming, made worse by the fact that Portugal was in lock-down much of that time.  We have truly missed our favorite means of traveling and photographing.  I suspect that between now and pick-up (some time during a two week period at the end of February/beginning of March), you’ll see a few stories of the build as we are notified of progress in due course.  And, of course, there will be plenty of stories as we begin our new, on-the-road adventures.

For now, our excitement levels have been lifted as they were with Beast, and the agony of the wait begins!  Nothing comes without a cost!  But some are definitely worth it.
