  • Q2MR Urban

What happens when you buy a modern digital camera that takes only black and white images? You photograph in places and at times of day (or night) you normally wouldn’t. These are photographs of the urban environment made with the Q2 Monochrom Reporter.

  • Q2MR Nature

The Leica Q2 Monochrome Reporter isn’t just an urban camera, it’s the one I often pick up when I want to just explore a new landscape. But even then, I predominantly hand-hold the camera. That means I often take images that are a bit different from the ones I set up a tripod to make. This monograph includes Q2MR images of the natural environment.

  • Terrell Brothers Road Trip

When you get a chance to take a road trip with your brother, you take it. Even if both of you are in your 60s. Particularly when it will be a photography road trip. This is the monograph from that trip. We had an amazing time!

  • Sand & Sky

Sometimes you go to a location not expecting very much, only to discover how truly plentiful a location can be. Our 2019 trip to Death Valley, specifically to the Ibex Dunes, was one of those trips.

  • Sand & Sky - B & W

Rarely does one location offer a wealth of both color and black and white imagery. Even more rarely an image that succeeds as both. Our 2019 Death Valley trip gave me both of both, which is why there are two monographs from the Ibex dunes.

  • Santiam

In 2018 Ann and I took an overnight trip to the Santiam River. The next morning, after initially feeling visually stifled, my camera revealed the possibilities the river had to offer in a traditional landscape photograph. The next hour was one of the most intensive photographic experiences I’ve ever had. The result is a printed portfolio of the best of those images.

  • Stone Town

In 2012, while working in Liberia, I had a two-week training in Tanzania. I decided to spend the middle weekend in Stone Town, Zanzibar. On Sunday morning I went out as dawn was breaking with my X100 and photographed the neighborhood coming to life. What a joy that morning was!

  • Workshop Portfolio

In 2020, Ann and I had scheduled a workshop with David Ward and Joe Cornish. COVID put a stop to that. But we managed to reschedule to another joint workshop in 2021, which unfortunately met with the same result. I had plans to print a portfolio in preparation for the workshop. These are the images I would have printed..
