We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming - Keep on Trucking Edition
Well, my reason for staying here while Ann goes galavanting in the US has finally arrived. The bimobil has been loaded onto the truck and should be here in 4-5 days.
There’s not much to say but a few photos to show. First off, she’s not traveling alone (I say “she” because that is the term Karsten used in referring to her - Ann and I will have to decide on the proper pronouns once we’ve traveled with “her” a bit).
I bet that Audi thought it was hot stuff until the bimobil rolled up!
You can see from the photo below that we got temporary German export plates for the bimobil. They’re good for 15 days (until June 1) and will allow us to take the vehicle to get inspected once it arrives in Portugal.
There’s nothing like a few photographs to get the excitement level up again. I know there’s a lot of (paper) work to be done before we’re able to start our adventures again, but this is one more step forward!
Obviously, carrying a load like this takes a hefty vehicle in its own right, but I suspect a MAN semi will do the job.
I’m sure my anxiety level will keep rising as the bimobil makes her way here, but it probably won’t compare to the excitement I’ll feel on arrival day
Then, of course, will begin the process of inspections, taxes and licensing that I’m not looking forward to, and the anxiety of (still) waiting to hear from IMT about our drivers’ licenses.
But for now, chin up, she’s on her way!
