We can finally leave the passports at home!

Well, Lidiane was right!  Come to the blog site to find out why I say that.

Lidiane (our attorney for our SEF [immigration] process) told us that there was one good thing (for us at least) about the pandemic.  Since Portugal and the rest of the world was pretty much on hold from March through June, there hadn’t been a lot of folks seeking to emigrate.  For one thing, that meant not only that we were able to get an SEF interview within the period our 4-month entry visa granted us access to Portugal (usually you come here, get the appointment set for a date several months after your visa expires, and carry the appointment letter with your passport/visa to prove you’re here lawfully).  Our SEF interview was July 9, our entry visa doesn’t expire until July 30.  Lidiane also said it meant that instead of having to wait 2-3 months to get our residency cards, we’d probably only have to wait a couple of weeks.  Well, they arrived yesterday!
