CAPTURE ONE 22 - MADEIRA
When Ann and I headed off to Madeira, our laptops had on them Capture One 21, the latest version of the program we use to catalog and, most importantly, to develop our digital images. However, we left not only knowing that Capture One 22 was coming soon, but knowing that it would have a feature that was not present on Capture One 21. That feature, and the reason we’d pre-paid for an upgrade, was the ability to stitch multiple images together to make a panoramic image.
That ability to stitch images together at some point in the future was in the back of our minds when we packed for the trip, which meant I threw my panorama rail into my camera bag along with other “accessories” to take alone for the trip. Perhaps it wasn’t in my mind enough because of all of the locations we went to, I only made one panorama and, I must confess, really only thought of it once during the entire trip. Still, I did remember (once) and made a sequence of 7 images to be stitched together if and when Capture One 22 came out.
Given that Capture One 22 was unveiled last week, it’s about time I stitched the image to see the result of my efforts. Here it is, the view of the Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo Ridgeline (under cloud) from the Balções:
Now you can see why I was hoping to get on the Balções on a clear morning just as the morning rays started hitting the peak tops. Well, as The Rolling Stones put it, “You can’t always get what you want. . . .”
Hopefully next time we’re out and the scene calls for it, I’ll remember that a panoramic image is an option.
