WE AGAIN INTERRUPT YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED PROGRAMMING FOR THIS IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

On one of our crazier days where nothing seemed to be going right but everything turned out alright, we returned from a late photography session at the Fanal Forest to find an e-mail from bimobil replying to our responses to Kristian’s questions.  Best of all, the e-mail included more exterior cabin drawings, this time shown mounted on the Iveco Daily 4x4!

Regarding the three open items (we’d accepted the relocation of the bathroom/shower venting fan), Kris noted that they will build a side-access door to the shoebox located in a closet next to the entry steps into the living cabin.  Just what we wanted!

As for the second item (the means of securing our camera bags during transit), Kris said it would be an easy thing to add at the time of delivery as we check out and get oriented with the vehicle.  That way, we can have it exactly as we want.  What better excuse can we have to bring our big camera bags to Germany when we pick up the vehicle other than they are “necessary” to complete the vehicle?

The third item involved the location of railings that we can use to attach tarps for an awning.  That’s where the drawings came in.  I’d described an approximate height (arms reach or so above a 5’-10” person [me]) and they determined that it should be 2157 mm from ground level (not 2156 mm or 2158 mm - how is that for German precision!).  You can see - both the track and the proper elevation are shown on the drawings.

Our reply was short and sweet.  Everything is a go!

To make things even more interesting, a bit later we sent Kris a second email.  This one included an image of the graphic (a standard bimobil cabin graphic) that we want on the sides of the vehicle.  We had mentioned it to Karsten (and it’s on the production order), but we realized we had not yet sent them an image of what we want.

This is starting to feel very real.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
