Ann and Dan - Seal Rock
This is the start of a new series because I have to do a better job of getting images out to folks (and to find ways of sharing some of Ann’s images [yes, I know we have the photo website, which has been neglected for far too long due to my slowness in processing images, but I’m working on them and we keep on going out to make even more!]).This new series comes from the fact that Ann and I are at the same place often photographing the same things, but with very different results. Sometimes I’m amazed at how different our images can be even though we’re standing 5 or 10 feet apart photographing at the same time.
This pair of photographs wasn’t like that. During our recent trip to Seal Rock we separated quite early. Usually it’s me that is the first one to head off from the initial photographing spot. This time it was Ann. In fact, it was probably 2 hours or so before we actually met back up again (you can see just how far away she was from me from the recent “shooting the shooter” post). So this pairing of images was taken quite some time apart. I didn’t realize she had taken a photograph at that spot until I noticed the photograph on her monitor and I said, “Hey, I know those starfish!”
Here’s Ann’s photograph:
And here’s mine:
Ann’s was taken during that short period when the sun had just broken through in the morning. Mine was taken a bit later when the skies had become overcast again.
So whenever I think of it (or realize we’ve done it), I’ll try to show you how Ann and I can see the same things differently.
