Happy Anniversary Ann!!!

Happy Anniversary Hon!

I wish I could be there to celebrate with you today.  It’s been 13 wonderful years and, as I said yesterday, I hope there are many more that I get to share with you.  I cannot begin to express how much your friendship, companionship and love mean to me.  And the support you’ve given to me as I’ve changed careers, well it leaves me speechless.  Please know that I love you.

Dan

As for everyone else reading in on this, I’ve had time this weekend to think about many the wonderful times I’ve had with Ann.  Unfortunately too many were in the days of film that that left me with photographs that have not been scanned (sure would have been nice to have one from our white water rafting trip).  But others are digital and I thought I’d walk you through some of them for you to see why I’m so fortunate and why today is a special day.

This is the Ann I fell in love with.  When I first saw her, the first thing that popped into my mind was, “Wow!”  The second thing was, “Don’t think like that Dan, you don’t date people you work with.”  It took Len, a year later, to point out that I was no longer actually working with her anymore and, as he put it, “What’s wrong with Ann?”  Our relationship started a couple of weeks after that, right as I started studying for the bar exam.  No one ever accused me of being too bright - but I did get lucky!

With Ann I got dogs (and a truck - it’s a story to ask Ann) and lots and lots of walks.

I’m very lucky that at least some of the film photos from our early years did get scanned (namely for the dog shots).  Here’s another one of Ann that was in that bunch.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any digital photos from when I sprang Ann onto the guys, or of our wedding a few months later.  I guess I need to get some scanning done.

Fortunately for me, Ann and the guys hit it off the bat very quickly (Ann insists it was the spitball to the side of my face she shot that first dinner together, I think it’s because she’s a fun person).  So over the years we’ve had a lot of great times with the guys.

Over the years Ann’s hair has gotten shorter . . .

and Devon’s has gotten longer, I mean and the guys have gotten older.

We’ve done some very interesting things.  Imagine going to Las Vegas for 5 days just to watch sumo - didn’t spend a dime gambling!

And there have been additions to our life as well.

As much as we love Oregon, we realize that occasionally we do need to get out a bit and visit others for once.

And every once in a while, the guys bring someone new into our lives.

Like the guys, Holden has grown up too - and now he’s even a lot older than this!

We even have a Pen now too!

Face it, when the guys foot their own bill to visit Ann, their relationship with her isn’t just about me.

All in all, I’m a very lucky guy.  Thanks Ann!!!
