Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Baghdad! Three weeks ago I flew for 22 hours from the dry of Iraq to the rain of Oregon.  Last night, I returned from the rain of Oregon to the . . .  rain of Iraq.

Before that, I had two of the busiest weeks since I've been here.  While I was at home on R&R, I found out that some of that hard work paid off.  We helped the Jessup International Moot Court Competition teams from two law schools prepare for the Iraqi national rounds.  One of those teams, from the Baghdad University College of Law, won.  They'll be heading to Washington, D.C. to compete in the international rounds in a few months.

I needed the time at home.  I was mentally and physically exhausted.  Ask Ann, I was pretty much a walking vegetable for a week.  My apologies for not keeping everyone updated, but now I'm back!  I promise to get back to posting regularly.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and may your new year be wonderful!
