A Simple Picture
It’s been awhile. Believe me, I know. I won’t go into the gory details, but the big picture is that since my last post our friends John and Judy came to visit us over a couple of weekends (with a trip into Germany for them to visit family) (the photo below came from their second period with us), followed by 23 days in a row of work cranking out 3 Court of Appeals Briefs (and reviewing three drafted by others (how un-european of me to work on weekends)), sprinkled with a very frustrating experience of not-selling the bimobil. There wasn’t much time for posting in that period so I didn’t even try.
The Judy and John visit was great, but as we usually do with them, Ann and I didn’t turn it into a photography opportunity - we preferred focusing on good times with friends. Except, . . . you know me, I can’t help myself sometimes. I guess I could blame Ann, because a couple of weeks before John and Judy arrived, Ann decided she wanted to get a plant for one of our outdoor planters that had just been sitting there, full of dirt growing nothing. So that’s what we did. And sure enough, while we had company, one of the buds decided to blossom and . . . as I said, I couldn’t help myself. We were all getting ready for dinner (yeah, that John! Master chef extraordinaire! With his most excellent sous-chef, Ann!), I looked through the window at the blossom and realized the light was amazing - the blossom was just glowing. I couldn’t help myself. As they were moving everything to the table, I ran upstairs, grabbed a camera, went outside and hand-held a few shots, ran back inside, set my camera down and enjoyed the company and the food.
That was on September 6. I didn’t download the chip until October 2. Like I said, busy month.
And this is it.
Sometimes a simple picture is enough.
